ASEAN Centre for Sustainable Development Studies and Dialogue Joins ASEAN Day 2026 Exhibition at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Bangkok, 7 August 2026 – Representatives from the ASEAN Centre for Sustainable Development Studies and Dialogue (ACSDSD), Ms. Mayuree Sirimatayanant and Ms. Suchada Phruthonkul, took part in an exhibition held as part of ASEAN Day 2026 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This year’s celebration marks the 59th anniversary of the founding of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), with the Department of ASEAN Affairs organizing a flag-raising ceremony and inviting secondary school students selected from schools nationwide to take part in the ASEAN Quiz competition, alongside other activities aimed at raising awareness of ASEAN’s role and
significance in Thailand.
Under the 2026 chairmanship of the Philippines, this year’s celebrations are held
under the theme “Navigating Our Future, Together”, reflecting ASEAN’s focus on strengthening regional cooperation to address shared challenges such as economic uncertainty, climate change, and technological change.
As part of the exhibition, ACSDSD presented information on the Centre’s background, objectives, and areas of work as the regional body coordinating efforts on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within ASEAN. The exhibition also highlighted the Centre’s mechanisms in supporting the ASEAN
coordinator for sustainable development across the region, offering visitors including the participating students, an opportunity to learn more about ACSDSD’s work.
