Executive Leaders Inspire Educators to Champion Sustainable Development

On 26–28 August 2026 – The ASEAN Centre for Sustainable Development Studies and Dialogue (ACSDSD), in collaboration with Mahidol University and partner organizations, convened a three‑day Training of Trainers Workshop designed to empower educators as catalysts for sustainable change.

On the 26 August, Executive Director Phasporn Sangasubana delivered a keynote address during the inaugural session, underscoring ASEAN’s collective responsibility to advance the 2030 Agenda. She emphasized the role of educators as “frontline ambassadors of sustainability,” capable of translating global goals into local action through classrooms and community engagement and highlighted the importance of teaching climate literacy to local students and communities to achieve a common understanding that could inspire their actions in their lives and later on in their professional lives, expanding their capacity and contributing to the sustainable development through each of their capacity.

Through SDGs champion sharing session, Ms. Cherry Khemupsorn, actress and environmental activist, shared public participation aspects of approaching certain local communities to inform their rights while also pushing for the green agenda without compromising the communities’ profit. This hands-on experience sharing session was warmly welcomed by all the participants

The closing ceremony featured Deputy Executive Director Dr. Anthony Pramualratana, who reflected on the outcomes of the intensive training. Throughout the 3-day workshop, teachers formed a presentation called the School SDGs Project Canvas, ensuring beneficiaries of the missions are students and local communities, gaining awareness on sustainable development while advancing their interest in higher education. His reflection set the direction going forward for educators on sustainable development academic teaching and implementation, reinforcing the educator’s mission to foster dialogue, ensure key resources, and achieve a happy learning environment for students.

Project Manager Ms. Suchada Phruthonkul ensured the smooth implementation of this project while ACSDSD also established their booth exhibition to communicate our annual activities on regional sustainable development and circular economy. The #SDGsaroundtheglobe platform exhibited in the showcase is the key platform for ACSDSD’s key insights and highlighting initiatives of sustainable development in the ASEAN region in both public and private partnerships.
