ACSDSD Contributes to the Second Regional Forum on Mainstreaming the ASCC Strategic Plan

Ms. Phasporn Sangasubana, Executive Director of the ASEAN Centre for Sustainable Development Studies and Dialogue (ACSDSD), participated in the 2nd Regional Forum on the ASCC Strategic Plan: Mainstreaming the Strategic Plan into Regional, National, and Local Development Plans, held on 1–3 July 2026 at the ASEAN Headquarters in Jakarta, Indonesia. Ms. Suchada Phruthonkul accompanied the Executive Director throughout the mission.

The Regional Forum brought together representatives from ASEAN Member States, development planning agencies, ASEAN centres and entities, dialogue partners, and international organisations to discuss strategies for integrating the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) Strategic Plan into regional, national, and local development frameworks. The Forum also aimed to facilitate the exchange of experiences and good practices, strengthen institutional coordination among stakeholders, and develop a roadmap for mainstreaming the ASCC Strategic Plan to support the implementation of the ASEAN Community Vision 2045. 

 


 

 

On 3 July 2026, ACSDSD ED as a speaker in the plenary session entitled “Sharing Best Practices and Experiences in Mainstreaming Regional Strategies into Plans and through Sustainable Development Cooperation”, shared ACSDSD’s experiences in advancing sustainable development cooperation and highlighted the Centre’s role in supporting ASEAN’s efforts to integrate regional priorities through partnerships, policy dialogue, and knowledge sharing. She emphasized the convening role of ASEAN centres/entities in building multi stakeholder partnerships to support the implementation and translation of ASCC Strategic Plan in a practical and meaningful way.

ACSDSD’s participation reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to supporting the implementation of the ASCC Strategic Plan and fostering regional cooperation towards a more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable ASEAN Community.
