ACSDSD co-organized ASEAN Gender Outlook, launching a new report

On 28 May 2025, H.E. Ms. Phasaporn Sangasubana, Executive Director of ASEAN Centre for Sustainable Development Studies and Dialogue (ACSDSD) co-organized the event titled “ASEAN Gender Outlook: From Insights to Action — Harnessing Gender Data for Inclusive Policy and Decision-Making in Support of ASEAN Community Vision 2045” together with the Secretary-General of ASEAN, UN Women Indonesia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, as Thailand is the ASEAN Coordinator on Sustainable Development Cooperation and co-organizer of the event.

 

The event promoted the second edition of the ASEAN Gender Outlook, a flagship report jointly developed by UN Women, the ASEAN Secretariat, and the ASEAN Committee on Women. The report assesses ASEAN’s progress in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Experts recommended the collection and use of gender-based statistical data for evidence-based analysis of access to and benefits from policy implementation. The discussion ensure the empowerment of women and girls, ensuring that no one is left behind.

 

 

The event received significant interest from the diplomatic corps of ASEAN Member States and foreign missions, international organizations and agencies based in Jakarta, as well as organizations outside Jakarta who joined virtually. ACAI to join ACSDSD’s ASEAN Networking Symposium 2026

On 10 March 2026, ACSDSD Deputy Executive Director Dr. Anthony Pramualratana and ACSDSD Communications Officer Ms. Pakjira Numchaisombut met with Dr. Somsak Akksilp, Executive Director of the ASEAN Centre for Active Ageing and Innovation (ACAI), to pave the way for collaboration ahead of the ASEAN Networking Symposium 2026. Dr. Anthony highlighted two key outcome of the symposium: the need for synergy across ASEAN’s development pillars and the promotion of best practices in ASEAN Centres collaboration. He also invited ACAI to participate in the symposium to discover synergies among ASEAN Centres. Both institutions agreed to integrate a people-to-people approach into ASEAN’s sustainable development agenda, and ACAI confirmed its participation, marking a step toward inclusive, people-centered sustainability across the region.
