On 18 September 2025, H.E. Phasporn Sangasubana, Executive Director of the ASEAN Centre for Sustainable Development Studies and Dialogue (ACSDSD) was the moderator for the ASEAN-Korea Sustainable Innovation Talks, hosted by the ASEAN-Korea Centre on 18-19 September 2025 in Seoul, Republic of Korea.

As a key platform initiated by AKC, the event demonstrated its pivotal role in fostering cooperation between ASEAN and Korea on sustainability and innovation. To highlight this vision, Ms. Phasporn Sangasubana, Executive Director of the ASEAN Centre for Sustainable Development Studies and Dialogue (ACSDSD), was invited to serve as Moderator of the session “Bridging Sustainability and Inclusive Innovation.” Her leadership guided discussions on leveraging AI to address climate challenges, promote inclusivity, and ensure responsible governance, underscoring ASEAN’s commitment to advancing sustainable and inclusive growth in partnership with Korea.

AI for Sustainability: Experts examined AI through an ESG lens, addressing its economic implications on a sustainable growth in ASEAN, its potential to accelerate data-driven decision to advance climate goals. On the other hand, both ASEAN and Korea must consider the amount of energy consumed by the use of Artificial Intelligence before adoption.

The ACSDSD looks forward to engaging with the AKC in mutual areas of cooperation that aligns fast-moving innovation with ASEAN Community priorities and fosters inclusive, resilient development across the region.
