ACSDSD in “BCG Economy Model: Circular Economy for Green Recovery in ASEAN” during The 4th ASEAN Innovation Roadmap Forum

On August 24, 2023, Khun David Treesuvit, from the ASEAN Centre for Sustainable Development Studies and Dialogue (ACSDSD), the host of the ASEAN Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform secretariat, participated in the “BCG Economy Model: Circular Economy for Green Recovery in ASEAN” during “The 4th ASEAN Innovation Roadmap Forum” at Centara Grand Plaza Ladprao, Bangkok, Thailand as guest speaker. The ASEAN BCG Network Team, the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), Thailand, organised this event. The BCG Economy Model: Circular Economy for Green Recovery in the ASEAN session aims to be a platform for ASEAN with Japan – its stakeholders to approach and address opportunities and challenges of circular economy and to ensure the continuity of their transformation to sustainable development.

The opening remarks were kindly given by Dr Luksmon Smansin, Acting Director, International Affairs Division, Office of the Permanent Secretary for Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), Thailand.

On this occasion, Khun David Treesuvit talks about the circular economy in ASEAN, samples of regional and national mechanisms and initiatives, and the ASEAN Circular Economy Stakeholder platform.

ACAI to join ACSDSD’s ASEAN Networking Symposium 2026

On 10 March 2026, ACSDSD Deputy Executive Director Dr. Anthony Pramualratana and ACSDSD Communications Officer Ms. Pakjira Numchaisombut met with Dr. Somsak Akksilp, Executive Director of the ASEAN Centre for Active Ageing and Innovation (ACAI), to pave the way for collaboration ahead of the ASEAN Networking Symposium 2026. Dr. Anthony highlighted two key outcome of the symposium: the need for synergy across ASEAN’s development pillars and the promotion of best practices in ASEAN Centres collaboration. He also invited ACAI to participate in the symposium to discover synergies among ASEAN Centres. Both institutions agreed to integrate a people-to-people approach into ASEAN’s sustainable development agenda, and ACAI confirmed its participation, marking a step toward inclusive, people-centered sustainability across the region.
